Rights Must Work, Not Stay on Paper
On January 23, 2026, training-discussion was held at the FriendlYerevan DropIn Center of Dignity, focusing on general human rights and key aspects of universal health insurance recently adopted in Armenia.
The session was conducted by lawyer Shushan Khnkoyan and was held primarily in a question-and-answer format, allowing participants to raise concerns, receive clear explanations, and discuss real-life situations they face within the healthcare system.
The training addressed the following topics:
- general rights of citizens,
- the scope and implementation of universal health insurance,
- expectations and challenges related to health insurance coverage,
- and the state’s obligations in the healthcare sector.
The discussion was grounded in participants’ personal experiences, with many questions focusing on access to healthcare services, quality of care, and available legal protection mechanisms.
At the end of the session, several participants registered for individual legal consultations to discuss their specific cases in more detail.
The session also presented the services provided by Dignity Humanitarian NGO, aimed at protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, ensuring access to healthcare services, capacity building and social support.
