March 8: International Women’s Rights Day

March 8 is not only a celebration, but also an important reminder that the struggle to protect women’s rights and ensure gender equality continues in many countries around the world, including Armenia. On this day, the Dignity Humanitarian NGO reaffirms its commitment to supporting the protection of women’s rights and raising awareness about the challenges women face in their everyday lives.

Today, many women continue to face discrimination in almost every sphere of life and are subjected to gender-based violence. Gender-based violence remains one of the most widespread and serious violations of human rights. It manifests in various forms, including domestic violence, sexual violence and harassment, psychological and economic pressure, as well as discriminatory attitudes in social and professional life.

The protection of women’s rights is a fundamental condition for a democratic and just society. Ensuring gender equality is only possible when violence and discrimination against women receive a clear and unequivocal condemnation both at the state level and within society.

Today we emphasize once again: women’s rights are human rights.
Violence can never be justified.

Happy International Women’s Rights Day.
