The Monitoring Group Discussed Issues Related to Human Rights Monitoring in Penitentiary Institutions and the Annual Report

On March 9, 2026, the next regular monthly meeting of the Public Monitoring Group was held at the office of Dignity Humanitarian NGO (the coordinating organization of the Monitoring Group).

The meeting was chaired by the President of the Group, Sergey Gabrielyan. During the meeting, several key issues related to the activities of the Monitoring Group were discussed.

In particular, the members reviewed the draft of the 2025 Annual Report, discussing its structure, thematic directions and the format of its presentation. Several provisions of the regulations governing the activities of the Monitoring Group were also discussed, with the aim of improving the organization of the Group’s work and enhancing the effectiveness of monitoring mechanisms. In addition, the meeting included presentations and discussions on the visits carried out and planned to penitentiary institutions as well as other current issues related to the activities of the observers.

The meeting took place in a constructive and working atmosphere, highlighting the active engagement and commitment of the members and interns of the Monitoring Group to continue their consistent efforts aimed at protecting the rights of prisoners and monitoring the conditions of detention in penitentiary institutions.
