Dignity NGO Beneficiaries Participated in a Training on Sexually Transmitted Infections and Their Prevention
On June 5, 2026, within the framework of HIV prevention programs implemented by Dignity Humanitarian NGO, a training session on “Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Their Prevention” was organized for Yerevan Drop-In Center beneficiaries.
The training aimed to provide participants with fundamental knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), increase awareness of transmission routes, prevention methods, and treatment options, and promote responsible attitudes toward personal health.
The training was conducted by Dr. Arman Hovhannisyan, Head of the STI Department at the National Center of Burnology and Dermatology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and a dermatologist-venereologist. He presented the main types of STIs, their symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and modern treatment approaches. Special attention was also given to HIV prevention methods, including the importance of safer sexual practices and regular testing.
The session was highly interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and receive professional guidance and clarifications from the expert.
Recognizing that having a sexually transmitted infection significantly increases the risk of acquiring HIV, Dignity Humanitarian NGO collaborates with the following healthcare institutions within the framework of its HIV prevention programs:
- National Center of Burnology and Dermatology, Yerevan;
- Vanadzor Polyclinic No. 3, Vanadzor;
- N. Melikyan Polyclinic No. 2, Gyumri.
Through this collaboration, program beneficiaries have access to free STI-related counseling, testing, and treatment services.
