The Issue of Drugs in Armenia
On June 26 2026, a conference on the Issue of Drugs in Armenia: New Challenges, took place. It was organized by Addictions and Public Health NGO, dedicated to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Dignity NGO was invited to participate in the conference too. Sergey Gabrielyan, the president of the organization, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the importance of the collaboration and a united struggle between state bodies, civil society and the professional community toward drug policy reforms, the protection of human rights and overcoming the existing challenges in the sector. |

Shushan Khnkoyan, Dignity NGO lawyer, presented the legal regulations of the drug sector, especially emphasizing the barriers in current legislation, discriminatory obstacles and regulations, problems that arise during the activities of law enforcement agencies, as well as the implementation process and existing issues of the methadone substitution treatment program in criminal-executive institutions. |
